Cars on the Green at Kloof and Highway SPCA

Kloof and Highway SPCA have many clever fundraising ideas and Cars on the green is one of my favourites.

I have taken my children to the event for the last three years. It acts as an added birthday treat for my son and we get to support the good work that this SPCA branch does in the community.

They have outreach clinics; they support both Jenny Konigkramer’s Inanda Dog Project and the Molweni Dog Project; they have been in the news recently with a the national clamp down on dog thefts and fighting; not only this their adoption rate is really good and they have stepped in to help organisations like Mazarat Rescue Kennels to rehome dogs that have been in kennels too long.

We are proud parents to Blu who was adopted from this branch. For an adoption fee we received our black and tan child, who had already been inoculated and dewormed. He returned to the SPCA for his neuter which was included in the adoption fee. You really can’t buy love at a better price.

Besides the cars we enjoyed browsing the book charity shop, and chatting to the friendly ladies and gents volunteering.

Supporting the animals does really not have to be a sad experience at all.

Thank you Kloof and Highway SPCA for an enjoyable outing.
