Westville mom, Di Kendall, bared her heart and soul in her first book and built upon its success by launching another two books to help others find healing with their pets.
The 41 year old first put pen to paper in 2008, deciding it was time to find her own sense of healing from a traumatic past.
Thinking that I can finally crack open that bottle of champagne I bought for my 40th.
Yeah, it was an entire month and a few days ago and my bottle has been sitting waiting patiently for me to celebrate.
So you know why I haven’t celebrated yet, I was on drugs…
LOL NOOOOO not thooooose kind of drugs, I was taking medication – a long list I might add, of the kind of pain medication, you are given after you have an op.
Since the beginning of the year I have seen so many people with new eyes.
Not in a judgemental way… no.
In a way that I realise that I have grown to a point that I no longer need their energy on my journey.
I have chosen to live simply, live gratefully and live my life in a way that is authentic to me and my journey. Read the rest of this entry

I’ve noticed a lot of people talking about grounding themselves – Tree hugging.
Tree hugging is great, it works, in fact:
In a recently published book, Blinded by Science, the author Matthew Silverstone, proves scientifically that trees improve many health issues such as; mental illnesses, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), concentration levels, reaction times, depression and the ability to alleviate headaches.
Countless studies have shown that children show significant psychological and physiological effects in terms of their health and well-being when they interact with plants. They demonstrate that children function better cognitively and emotionally in green environments and have more creative play in green areas.
A large public health report that investigated the association between green spaces and mental health concluded that “access to nature can significantly contribute to our mental capital and wellbeing”.
One report concluded with the following: “safe, green spaces may be as effective as prescription drugs in treating some forms of mental illnesses”.
I always talk about inspiring others through the most amazing life journeys, and that by sharing your story you could just be helping another person…
I for one don’t have the greatest past but I am learning to look at my past as a series of lessons that made me a better person today, and will see me improving myself tomorrow and learning and growing through life. Read the rest of this entry
